Hey look at that! It's the first concept-thing I ever drew of a Veo. DA's Muro is pretty cool for that, and I don't know why I don't play with it more.

TO THAT END!

After like five years of desperately wanting an iMac, I finally got one! This will replace my orphan PC whose power supply thinks it's funny to randomly turn off...
Unfortunately, though, getting the iMac took every bit of the money I was able to save up. So while I have this beautiful computer I don't have Photoshop for it. Thus I am still stuck creating the comic in Adobe Photoshop Elements 1.0 on my crapper PC. (Given my druthers I'd never leave Elements 1.0 but alas the technology is just getting too far past it).

SO. I am making an offer of cheap Muro commissions on my DA. These are coloured commissions for the price of sketches. Regular commissions are, of course, always open.

And donations to the comic are always the most amazing of all - if you ever feel my work is good enough to deserve some funds, please do hit that PayPal button up top! If, however, you prefer something in exchange for your buck (perfectly reasonable), please consider commissioning me at the DA link below. You can also e-mail contact@brightstarscomic.com.

(P.S. Just to put this argument to rest: I know I could DL a Photoshop rip, but I really hate to do so as a) it's a pain in the ass if anything goes bork and the program needs a reinstall, b) I can't legally make money from anything made in an illegal copy of the program, c) given the current froth over copyright laws etc, I really don't think it would be intelligent to go about pirating it. And maybe I would never get in trouble for it, but it is just my preference to actually own the program.)

@solidstate: I've had a MacBook for years - but never Photoshop to be able to use it for art.

PCs are just increasingly driving me ape-shit with how Windows is made for people with an IQ of 2. I find they can't leave me alone for five minutes to do what I want without the OS trying to hold my hand (or crashing...)... (Also the Mac displays are just unbeatable for visual stuff).

I have a teaching certificate and can get the education discount on Photoshop, which brings it down to $200.00!

Awesome concept art. The softness is so different from the coloring on your comic pages....I like it. Well, I enjoy both coloring techniques honestly. ~_^

You could always find an online photoshop program that's free. Like GIMP...until you save some money? I'm pretty sure it has a download for apple users. I don't approve of stealing software either so some freeware is always nice.

I had a beautiful, sleek macbook PRO that had the latest photoshop, the entire microsoft works, etc....it cost 3500 dollars. I loved it! (But notice my use of past tense). My nasty ass ex dropped a piece of furniture on it and killed it. And I dumped him. (It wasn't a great relationship to begin with and that was my deal breaker.) >______>;;;;

Oh, noes, Photochop Have you considered G.I.M.P.? It's free for PC.s and Mac's, and is very usable, although all the features are in a different place than you want them. But you can move most stuff around.

@maplebee: I ... understand. :-p

Way to go with the education version! Finally, some use for the teaching certificate.

@BadBanana: I can still use Photoshop on my PC for now, luckily. I dropped my MacBook and broke the screen soon after getting it (luckily was able to have it fixed)- they're beautiful but by god the aluminum casing is delicate.

@exit12AB_378: luckily I can still use Photoshop on my old PC for now - I'm just anxious to have done with the crapper, lol.

@Tanako: according to Adobe's online shop I can get it with my teacher's certificate. I so look forward to upgrading...

Free as in Free I think you ought to look into GIMP to see that it is NOT a viable alternative to photoshop. I'm So impressed with you Muro, that I had to try it out meself. Wow, the smoke brush is Am-Azing! Just the hammer, eh? Get gimp, try it, and then you can discard it as NOT a solution, unless you like it in which case, Bob's yer Uncle!

Paint tool SAI is shamefully easy to get for free. I don't like it more than photoshop, but hey. It amazes me when people have problems with Windows. It's never done anything like that to me in all the years i've used it. o-o

@Loss_of_Motion: I really enjoy SAI, but as far as I know there is no version for Mac ;_;

When I had Windows XP it was totally awesome for five years - never had a problem. Have not been as impressed with Vista or 7, though.

I love me some Windows 7. It's given me no problems. Tumblr delivered up a very similar program that works for MAC...
